Dearest Family,

Close to 14 years ago, I sent out the email below in response to Bishop Paprocki’s most excellent letter to the sheep of his diocese of Springfield, Illinois. Through a recent podcast referring to a book I read in my twenties, titled, “Limits to Growth,” I was reminded again of my uncanny response to that book at that time, and thought that email even more apt for today than when it was first written.

I do not know, nor can I imagine, what will help, let alone reverse, the evil of our day and the 24/7 attacks against the family, which Our Blessed Lady said would be the case in the end times.

I am sending that email out to you again, realizing not only that the situation has not changed, but that it has worsened exponentially like the lily in the parable below.

Beloved, we’ve been announcing this very special Novena to Bishop Fulton Sheen for some time now on Mother Miriam Live.

However, I wanted to share it with our dear community of email recipients and in time for those who wish to join us, starting tomorrow, September 15^th, on the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows and ending September 23^rd, the day before Bishop Sheen’s Beatification.

Please feel free to download this Novena (below) and to add your own special intentions. If you will allow me a special personal request, I pray that you might add my own brother, David Moss, to your intentions. David has come down with stage 4 very aggressive esophageal cancer which has already spread to his liver and to other organs. He is allergic to chemo and to pain and nausea medications. Surgery is not possible. God alone can help him now. We are praying, through the intercession of Bishop Sheen, for David’s healing, but, above all for our Blessed Lord’s will. As many of you know, David is the President of the Association of Hebrew Catholics and is praying for Our Lord to bring His individual to continue this vital work, most especially geared for this time in God’s plan of salvation.

We will include all of your intentions in our prayers here in the Priory of the Daughters of Mary, Mother of Israel’s Hope, beginning tomorrow on Our Lady’s Feast Day. If you would like to know Bishop Sheen’s most beautiful veneration of our Blessed Mother, I recommend to you his book: “The World’s First Love, Mary, Mother of God.”
